In 2023 there will be two private universities, 2 autonomous colleges
Surat has also entered the race of self-reliance in higher education. There are four private universities functioning in Surat along with Veer Narmad South Gujarat University and two new private universities will be started in the year 2023, of which Vanita Vishram Women's University is number one in the state and number 19 in the country. Along with this, two autonomous colleges will also be started in the city.
Besides, IIIT i.e. Indian Institute of Information Technology will also be set up. Private University Vanita Vishram Women and Public Education will start from next year. Besides, Veer Narmad from South Gujarat University's P. T. Science College and Wadia Women's College will get the status of Autonomous.
