Efforts will be made to maintain the quota of Gujarat

Participating in the question of coaching Scheduled Caste students in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar districts, Chief Minister Rupani said that for the first time such coaching classes should be planned in the state budget so that state students can sit for national level examinations like IIT, IIM, JEE and NEET and pursue higher careers. The prevalence of micro-irrigation system in the state will increase

Replying to a question on micro-irrigation during the budget session at the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel said that the state government was committed to expand the scope of micro-irrigation system in the state. Intensive efforts have been made by the state government to provide micro-farming facilities to the farmers. Strong irrigation management has been done by the state government for the purpose of producing Mabalakh crop by the farmers. The Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana 'Drop More Crop' has been implemented so that farmers can irrigate more with less water.


12 lakh farmers took advantage of micro-irrigation

Nitinbhai said that Banaskantha district has been leading in more crop production from micro-irrigation. Subsidies are provided for the purchase of micro-irrigation equipment so that all farmers, big and small, get the benefit of micro-irrigation. The sensitive state government has introduced a proposal to the central government to reduce the GST on micro-irrigation equipment from 18 per cent to 12 per cent. More than 12 lakh farmers in the state have benefited from the micro-irrigation scheme.


Farmers are given agricultural guidance

Agricultural festivals are organized by the state government and agricultural guidance is given to the farmers of the state through agricultural scientists. The general farmers of the state, small farmers, large farmers, marginal farmers are all given subsidy ranging from 70 per cent to 90 per cent. As a result, farmers in the state pay only 10 to 15 per cent to get the Mabalakh crop with less water. The farmer who has taken the subsidy can re-apply for that unit after 7 years.

The number of Gujarati medium students in JEE, NEET is increasing

Dr. SK Vijay, Deputy Director, Akash Institute, said that the number of Gujarati medium students participating in JEE, NIT examinations is increasing. Talented students also have the benefit of scholarships up to 90 percent. So far, the craze to go abroad to study in Gujarat has been more, due to which the students of Gujarat were less interested in the entrance exam. If students get the facility to stay at a discounted rate in big cities like Ahmedabad, Vadodara, it will be considered as the biggest support for them.
