About Cantonment Board Ahmedabad : 

The Ahmedabad Cantonment is situated in ahmedabad city, the capital of Gujarat State. It serves as a military base and residential establishment. It was established by the British Indian Army in 19th century British India, and taken over by the Indian Army in 1947. The cantonment maintains its own infrastructure of water supply & electricity is situated in the Shahibaug area.

As of 2001 India census, GR India Ahmedabad Cantonment had a population of 14,713. Males constitute 60% of the population and females 40%.
