Gujarat Police Bharti Recruitment Rules 2016

Gujarat Police Act, 1951.
No.GG/GUJ/ 16 /2016/MHIC/102011/2219/C :- In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of section 5 of the Gujarat Police Act, 1951 (Born. XXII of 1951) and in supersession of all the rules made in this behalf, the Government of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of Police Constable (Unarmed Branch), Class III, in the subordinate
service of the Police Department, namely:-

1. These rules may be called the Police Constable (Unarmed Branch), Class III, in the Police
Department Recruitment Rules, 2016.

2. Appointment to the post of Police Constable (Unarmed Branch), Class III, in the subordinate
service of the Police Department shall be made by direct selection. 
3. To be eligible for appointment by direct selection to the post mentioned in rule 2, a candidate shall, -
(a) not he less than 18 years of age and not be more than 33 years of age :
Provided that, the upper age limit may be relaxed in favour of a candidate who is already  in the service of the Government of Gujarat in accordance with the provisions of the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General), Rules, 1967 :
Provided further that upper age limit may also be relaxed in favour of a candidate who is belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Socially and Educationally Backward Classes and Women in accordance with the provisions of the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967 ;
(b)have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination from the Secondary and
Higher Secondary Education Board or possess an equivalent qualification recognised as such by
the Government ;
(c) possess the minimum requisite standard of physique as specified in Appendix 'A' appended
to these rules;
(d)possess the basic knowledge of computer application as prescribed in the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967; and
(e) possess adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.
4. The provisions of rule 9A of the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967 shall he applicable in respect of a candidate appointed
by direct selection. 
5. The candidate appointed in accordance with rule 4 shall during the stipulated period of service on contractual basis require to undergo police training and pass the post-training examination in accordance with the rules prescribed by the Government.
6. The candidate appointed in accordance with rule 4 shall, after regular appointment, require to pass the departmental examination in accordance with the rules prescribed by the Government.
7. The candidate appointed by direct selection shall have to possess valid Light/Heavy Motor vehicle driving license within stipulated period of service on contractual basis.
8. The candidate appointed by direct selection shall have to undergo such training and pass such examination as may be prescribed by the Government from time to time.
9. The candidate appointed by direct selection shall require to furnish a security and a surety bond in such form, for such amount and for such period as may be prescribed by the Government from time to time.

C. The candidate with any one or more of the following physical defects shall he considered physically unfit:-
Knock Knee, Pigeon Chest, Squint Eye, Flat Feet, Varicose Veins, Hammer Toes, Fractured Limb,
Decayed Teeth, Communicable Skin Disease.
D. SHAPE Means  :
S Psychological
H Hearing
A Appendage
P Physical capacity for normal work
E Eye sight
I means fit in all respects to perform normal professional functions under each of the above mentioned heads.
E. The candidate shall be free from surgical deformities like knock-knee, flat-feet and shall not have a past history of fits or psychiatric ailments, varicose vein, etc.
