About NEET UG 2017 : 
As per the Indian Medical Council Act-1956 as amended in 2016 and the Dentists Act-1948 as amended in 2016, online applications are invited for NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG) — 2017 (NEET-UG-2017) to be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses in India in Medical/Dental Colleges run with the approval of Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India except for the institutions established through an Act of Parliament i.e. AIIMS and JIPMER Puducherry.

Seats Categories : 
Admissions to all seats of MBBS/BDS courses will be done through NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG), 2017. The seats are classified in the following categories: (i) All India Quota Seats (ii) State Government Quota Seats (iii) State/Management/NRI Quota Seats in Private Medical / Dental Colleges or any Private/ Deemed University (iv) Central Pool Quota Seats

REQUIREMNENT OF AADHAAR NUMBER : 

For Indian citizens and ordinary residents of India, Aadhaar Number is a requirement to fill up the online application of NEET-2017 in all States except J&K, Assam and Meghalaya. • For NRIs, Passport Number is the mandatory requirement for filling up of the online application of NEET-2017. • For Foreign Nationals, Overseas Citizen of India (OCI's), Persons of Indian Origin (PTO's), Passport Number is the mandatory requirement for filling up of the online application of NEET-2017. • At the time of filling application form of NEET— 2017, the candidates will have to enter their AADHAAR number, name, date of birth & gender and hereby give their consent to CBSE to validate the information provided by them with the UIDAI's database. In case, these particulars do not match, the candidate will not be able to fill the application form of NEET- 2017. Therefore, the candidates are advised to ensure that their AADHAAR card has correct details of their name, date of birth & gender as per school records. If there is some mismatch in these details, the candidates should immediately get it corrected in AADHAAR data or school records, as the case may be. • Regarding requirement of AADHAAR a separate PUBLIC NOTICE is being published and also hosted on website. Candidates may follow the instructions liven therein.

PATTERN OF TEST The NEET (UG)- shall consist of one paper containing 180 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology). The duration of paper would be 03 hours from 10.00 a.m. to 01.00 p.m.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA  : 
(i) Indian Nationals, Non Resident Indians (NRI's), Overseas Citizen of India (OCI's), Persons of Indian Origin (PTO's) & Foreign Nationals are eligible for appearing in the NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG), 2017. (ii) The candidate must have completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December, 2017 i.e. the year of his/her admission to the 16' year M.B.B.S./B.D.S. Course. (iii) The upper age limit for candidates seeking admission in MBBS/BDS seats shall be 25 years as on the date of examination with a relaxation of 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC category.

1. An All India merit list and All India Rank of the qualified candidates shall be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the National Eligibility-cum Entrance Test and candidates shall be admitted to MBBS/BDS courses from the said list only by following the Existing Reservation Policies. 2. All admission to MBBS/BDS courses within in the respective categories shall be based solely on marks obtained in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test. 3. All other existing eligibility criteria for admission to Medical/Dental Colleges shall be applicable as per Rules and Policies of the State/UT/Institution/University concerned. For Candidates of Unreserved Category (UR) born on or between 08.05.1992 and 01.01.2001 For Candidates of SC/ST/OBC Category born on or between 08.05.1987 and 01.01.2001

COUNSELLING DETAILS :

1. CBSE will provide All India Rank. Result will be given to DGHS, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India to provide the same to admitting authorities. 2. Admitting authorities will invite applications for counselling and merit list shall be drawn based on All India Rank by the admitting authorities subject to their applicable rules. (iv) The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG) shall be limited to 3 (Three) uniformly for all the candidates. (v) The candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Bio-technology at the qualifying examination. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 50% for General candidates. Further, for persons for locomotor disability of lower limbs, the minimum of 45% marks for General-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required. Those who are appearing in Class XII examination in 2017 can also appear for the entrance test provisionally subject to their fulfilling the conditions later.

What is the responsibility of CBSE for NEET-UG, 2017?
The responsibility of the CBSE is limited to the conduct of the entrance test, declaration of result and providing All India Rank to the Directorate General of Health Services, New Delhi for counselling of 15% All India Quota Seats and providing the result to the State Counselling Authorities and Admitting Institutions.

When NEET-UG, 2017 will be conducted?
NEET-UG, 2017 will be conducted on 7 th May, 2017 (Sunday).

What is the minimum qualification for appearing in NEET-UG, 2017 for candidates of unreserved category?
• Any examination which in scope and standard (Last 02 years of 10+2 Study comprising of Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology; Which shall include practical test in these subjects) is found to be equivalent to the Intermediate Science Examination of an Indian University/Board, taking Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology including practical tests in each of these subjects and English.
• Provided that to be eligible for competitive entrance examination, candidate must have passed any of the qualifying examinations as enumerated in Bulletin or appearing in the qualifying examination in 2017.
• Provided also that to be eligible for competitive Entrance Test the candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology at the qualifying examination as mentioned in clause (2) of regulation 4 on Graduate Medical Education Regulations 1997.

If they claim eligibility, they must submit online Self Declaration which will be generated and printed automatically alongwith confirmation page for the record and to present during counselling.

No. If any candidate is opting vernacular language as medium of question paper, he will be allotted centre only in respective States of particular vernacular language. In the present case, examination centre could be only in Assam.

If a candidate is opting English as medium of question paper, in which language candidate will be provided Test Booklet?
Candidates opting for English would be provided Test Booklet in English only.

If a candidate is opting Hindi as medium of question paper, in which language candidate will be provided Test Booklet?
Candidates opting for Hindi would be provided Bilingual Test Booklet i.e. in Hindi and in English. In case of any ambiguity in translation of any of the questions, its English version shall be treated as final.

If a candidate is opting vernacular language as medium of question paper, in which language candidate will be provided Test Booklet?
Candidates opting for vernacular languages would be provided Bilingual Test Booklet i.e. in selected language and in English. In case of any ambiguity in translation of any of the questions, its English version shall be treated as final.
25.
Can I change the option of language once the form is submitted?
Option once exercised, cannot be changed after submission of application form. As centres will be allotted based on medium of question paper, candidates need to be very careful in choosing of medium of question paper.

Is there any change in the pattern of NEET-UG?
No. NEET-UG-2017 will be on the similar pattern which was in 2016.
27.
Is there any change in the syllabus of NEET-UG?
No. Syllabus of NEET-UG, 2017 will be similar to the syllabus of 2016.

Whether the examination will be offline or online?  
NEET-UG, 2017 will be an offline pen and paper test.
29.
What is the syllabus for NEET-UG, 2017?
The Question Paper of NEET-UG, 2017 shall be based on the syllabus as notified by the Medical council of India which is at Appendix-I of the Information Bulletin of NEET-UG, 2017 available on the website www.cbseneet.nic.in.

What will be the pattern of NEET-UG 2017?
The NEET-UG 2017 consists of one paper containing 180 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen only.
31.
What are the duration/timings of NEET-UG 2017?
TThe duration of NEET-UG 2017 will be 03 hours from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. However, no entry will be allowed after 9.30 a.m.

Which are the cities where NEET-UG 2017 will be held?
A list of examination centre cities is provided at Appendix-II in the Information Bulletin of NEET-UG 2017.

Can CBSE fix the examination centre in any city other than the three options exercised by the candidates?
Yes. Board reserves its discretion to fix the centre in other city than that of options exercised by the candidate.

Is CBSE reserve its discretion not to fix the centre in a city which is given in the Appendix-II?
Yes.
35.
From which city foreign nationals, OCIs & PIOs can appear in NEET-UG, 2017?
They can choose any three cities as given in Appendix-II.
36.
Can a candidate opt Imphal as centre city if residing in Delhi?
Candidates are advised to select the centre city in their State of residence or in neighbouring city only.
37.
Can a centre be allotted by the CBSE manually?
No. Centre allocation is made through computer with no human intervention.
38.
Can a candidate change its centre city after allotment of roll number?
In no case, centre city can be changed.
39.
How to fill up ‘online’ application form for NEET-UG 2017? Are there any guidelines for the students before filling the application form?
Application form for NEET-UG can be submitted only online through website www.cbseneet.nic.in. Details are available under Chapter-4 “Mode of submission of Application Form and fee details” as provided in the Information Bulletin of NEET-UG 2017. Keep the correct details ready before submission of form after carefully reading of Information Bulletin.

1. Common Services Centres will act as the Facilitation Centres this time and will provide the services against the fee prescribed.

Whether the service of Common Services Centres is chargeable?

How to remit fee for NEET-UG 2017?
The examination fee for NEET-UG 2017 can be remitted in the following manner:
• Through any Debit/Credit Card using on-line gateway payment facility or
• Net Banking/UPI
• e-wallet of various service providers For details, please refer to Chapter-4 of Information Bulletin.

If any candidate faces any problem in remittance of fee, to whom can he/she approach?
Candidates can approach the concerned Banks on contact numbers which are available on the website of the NEET-UG, 2017.
44.
If a candidate for any reason not appearing or appeared in the examination, is there any provision for fee refund?
No. Once the online application form is submitted successfully by the candidate, it cannot be withdrawn. Claims for refund of application fee will not be entertained under any circumstances.
45.
Is a candidate from Andhra Pradesh/J&K/Telangana studying in Maharashtra, eligible for 15% All India Quota seats?
In case, the candidate is not eligible to seek admission to MBBS/BDS seats in Medical/Dental Colleges in the State of Andhra Pradesh, J&K and Telangana, he will be eligible for 15% All India Quota seats. The candidate is also required to submit a self-declaration to this effect. Format is at Appendix-III of Information Bulletin.

What are the enclosures that should be attached with the confirmation page to be sent to the Board’s?
The candidates are NOT REQUIRED TO SEND the print out of the Confirmation Page or any document (s) to the NEET-UG Unit, CBSE.

If mistakenly during filling up of the form, wrong particulars are filled in the online form, how it will be corrected.
Candidates are requested to read the Information Bulletin carefully before submission of application. They should keep the entire information ready as per Replica of NEET-UG, 2017. An opportunity after a week of last date will be given to the candidates for such corrections, if any. No correction will be allowed thereafter. All the information (especially category) which is correct on the date of submission of form will be considered valid and no change is allowed later.

Is a candidate passed class XII with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subjects from NIOS, eligible to appear for NEET-UG?
Yes, candidate passed class XII examination with an aggregate of 50% marks in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-Technology and also passed English in the Qualifying Examination from any recognized Board/University can appear in the NEET-UG subject to fulfilling other conditions.

Eligibility of OCI candidates for admission under seats in the control of States/Universities/Institutions shall be ascertained before applying for NEET-UG, 2017.

(iv) 3% seats are reserved on horizontal basis for Physically Handicapped candidates.

What are the qualifying criteria of NEET-UG for preparing a merit list?
The Central Board of Secondary Education will prepare an All India Merit List of successful candidates of NEET – 2017 on the basis of the eligibility criteria provided by the Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India as given in Graduate Medical Education Regulations-1997 issued under Indian Medical Council Act-1956 and BDS Course Regulations, 2007 under the Dentists Act, 1948. The eligibility criteria are as follows:
(a) In order to be eligible for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses for a particular academic year, it shall be necessary for a candidate to obtain minimum of marks at 50th percentile in National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test to MBBS/BDS Courses held for the said academic year. However, in respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks shall be at 40th percentile. In respect of candidates with locomotor disability of lower limbs terms of Clause 4(a) iv (of regulations), the minimum marks shall be at 45th percentile for UR-PH and 40th percentile for SC-PH, ST-PH & OBC-PH candidates. The percentile shall be determined on the basis of highest marks secured in the All India common merit list in National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for admission to MBBS/BDS courses.
(b) Provided when sufficient number of candidates in the respective categories fail to secure minimum marks as prescribed in National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test held for any academic year for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses, the Central Government in consultation with Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India may at its discretion lower the minimum marks required for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses for candidates belonging to respective categories and marks so lowered by the Central Government shall be applicable for the said academic year only.
(c) To be eligible for the admission to MBBS/BDS Courses, a candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology at the Qualifying Examination as mentioned in Graduate Medical Education Regulations-1997 and BDS Course Regulations, 2007 and in addition must have come in the merit list of National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses. In respect of the candidates belonging to the SC, ST and OBC category the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology taken in qualifying examination and competitive examination (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) be 40% marks instead of 50%. In respect of candidates with locomotor disability of lower limbs, the minimum of 45% marks for Gen-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required. Provided that a candidate who has appeared in the qualifying examination the result of which has not been declared, he may be provisionally permitted to take up the competitive entrance examination and in case of selection for admission to the MBBS/BDS courses, he shall not be admitted to that course until he fulfils the eligibility criteria as specified above. A list of the successful candidates in order of All India Rank based on the score obtained in the examination will be prepared by the Board.

The candidate is required to bring following at the examination centre:-

• One Post Card Size Photograph affixed on the proforma and
• One passport size photograph to be affixed on attendance sheet. Candidates are advised not to bring any other item at the examination centres. There will not be any arrangement for safe keeping of any material at the centre. Neither CBSE nor centre will be responsible for any loss, delay etc.

Can the candidate bring anything other than that mentioned in S.No.41 above to the examination centre?
No other article will be allowed at the examination centre. Hence, candidate should not carry any other things.

Will any candidate be able to leave early if he finishes the test before the allocated test time?
No candidate will be allowed to leave the examination hall/room before the test concludes.

Admit cards will not be sent to candidates. These will be uploaded on website. Candidates need to download the Admit Card from the website only.
