Updates : The mayoral selection process will soon begin in six cities in the state
After the BJP's landslide victory in Gujarat's six municipal elections, the BJP's state parliamentary board will meet in the next two days to begin the mayoral selection process, selecting one of the three named panels and appointing them as mayors. Under the reserve rule, women mayors will rule in three cities for the first two and a half years. Normally, the BJP had already discussed some names for mayor at the time of selection of candidates in the elections. Similarly, other office bearers of the metropolis will also be selected.
