After the announcement of Panchayat elections in Madhya Pradesh, the dates for the urban body elections have been announced on Wednesday. The elections will be held in two phases. The first phase will be held on July 6 and the second phase on July 13. The results for the first phase will be declared on July 17 and the results for the second phase on July 18. The model code of conduct has come into force as soon as the election dates are announced. Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior and Jabalpur will go to polls in the first phase. That is, voting will be held here on July 6.
State Election Commissioner BP Singh gave this information in a press conference on Wednesday. He said that elections would be held in a total of 347 bodies. Voting will be held on 133 bodies in the first phase and 214 in the second phase. 19, 977 polling stations have been set up in the state. Duty of 87,937 employees has been deployed for voting. Elections will be conducted through EVMs. The polling time will be from 7 am to 5 pm.
